APPLICATIONS FOR 2011 ARE NOW OPEN!

Sound Summit is a 4 day festival of independent and innovative music featuring national and international artists, occurring on the October long weekend alongside the This Is Not Art annual festival.

Since 2000, Sound Summit has given musicians, producers, composers, labels, promoters, industry and fans a chance to perform, discuss, learn, teach, interact and argue in front of an audience of like minded peers in an environment that encourages the global exchange of ideas, techniques and trends.

We are now calling for proposals for this year’s festival, from a broader spectrum of participants than ever before! If your practice relates to independent, exciting and emerging music in any way than we want to hear from you – musicians, producers, artists, filmmakers, authors, journalists, publications and fans.

We’re interested in receiving proposals that explore any aspect of contemporary music – be it technological, political, theoretical, media, industry, fan or practice based.

THANK YOU!

Now that we’ve had a bit of time to decompress (and we hope you have too!), we’d like to express our massive thanks to everyone who came to Newcastle and participated in Sound Summit in 2010, be it as a performer, speaker or punter.

Over the panels, performances and presentations that comprised the 2010 Sound Summit festival, we’ve been continually impressed and inspired from what we’ve seen and heard; and we hope this was the case for you too.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be uploading audio, video, and pictorial documentation of the festival this year as a reminder of everything that took place over the duration Sound Summit.

If anyone has any photos, audio, video or recollections of the festival, we’d love to see them to relive the fabulous memories of Sound Summit in 2010. Send anything you have through to info[at]soundsummit[dot]com[dot]au and we’ll make sure to upload and appropriately credit your content.

Thanks,

Andrew, Chris, and Kirsty
